The World Literature Working Group is a student-led initiative aimed at fostering academic dialogue and collaboration between graduate students and independent scholars working in the field of world literature. It is run by a small group of PhD students from the Department of English at York University in Toronto, Canada.

This website serves as a central hub for our working group’s activities, and it is regularly updated to feature announcements for upcoming roundtables, academic talks, scholarships, and other opportunities relating to world literature scholarship. Visit our Resources page to find links to scholarship applications as well cfps for upcoming conferences and journal issues.

Starting in January 2018, WLWG will host roundtables on a variety of topics, and welcomes contributions from students and scholars, as well as writers, thinkers, and artists. Roundtables are free to attend and are open to the public. All are welcome! Please see our Announcements page for details on roundtable dates, times, locations, and topics.

WLWG is also accepting submissions for short (500-1000 word) blog entries on any topic related to the field of world literature. We welcome submissions of all kinds, and would be pleased to feature your work and thoughts on our Blog page.
